How to play
Play a solo puzzle or let Player 1 choose the code. Use four or five non-repeating digits. A solid dot means a correct digit in the correct place. A hollow dot means a correct digit in the wrong place.

Crack a hidden code.
The digits never repeat. You get ten guesses for four digits, or twelve for five.
Player 1, choose a secret code with no repeated digits.

When the codebreaker is ready, open the guess sheet.

Paper version
Write the secret code at the top and cover it. Make a row for each guess, then mark exact and misplaced digits beside it.
Change one thing at a time
When a guess gives useful information, keep most of it and change only one or two positions. Large random changes throw away clues you have already earned.

Read both clues together
A solid dot means the right digit is already in the right place. A hollow dot means a correct digit is somewhere else. The clue does not tell you which digit earned which dot, so compare several guesses before moving a number.
